The Color Purple Tickets Information
The Color Purple has been rediscovered as The Color Purple musical, brought to the Broadway stage by a cast of characters as noteworthy as its stars. Legendary, 27-time Grammy winning music producer Quincy Jones, executive producer of The Radio City Music Hall Scott Sanders, Tony award winning Broadway stage producer Roy Furman ("Spamalot", "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels"), founders and co-chairmen of Miramax Films, Harvey and Bob Weinstein, and the inimitable talk show trendsetter and Oscar winner for her role in the movie that The Color Purple Broadway is based on, Oprah Winfrey (along with several other accomplished producers) have all teamed up to bring The Color Purple tickets into the hands of live theatergoers.

They charged Marsha Norman, who won the Pulitzer Prize for "'night Mother" and the Tony award for "The Secret Garden" with the task of reinventing the touching tale for the Broadway stage. And they charged songwriters Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray who, between them, have written some of the most popular, familiar, and beloved songs for such great crooners and songstresses as Mary J. Blige, Sting, Chaka Khan, Madonna, the Pet Shop Boys, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Michael McDonald, Diana Ross, Ray Charles, Patti LaBelle, and Earth, Wind, and Fire with the task of creating songs and a score worthy of Walker's sweeping saga. The result is a magnificent and inspiring blend of soulful gospel, blues, ragtime and jazz that will have you singing in your seats.

The Color Purple tickets will give you a unique opportunity to see and hear the story anew, with songs like "Somebody Gonna Love You", "Big Dog", "Dear God", "A Tree Named Sofia", "Hell No", "All We've Got to Say", "Too Beautiful for Words", "Push Da Button", "Uh Oh", and "What About Love?"- raising the uplifting epic to soaring new heights.

Your The Color Purple tickets will take you back to the early 20th century where you'll experience the 40 yearlong emotional rollercoaster of one African-American woman's struggle to cling to the power of love in a desperate and seemingly hopeless effort win out over incredible adversity and find a voice for herself in the world.

The Color Purple tickets bring together a powerhouse cast of both Broadway veterans - Kingsley Leggs ("Miss Saigon"), Darlesia Cearcy ("The Goodbye Girl", "Ragtime", "Smokey Joe's Café", "The Who's Tommy), and Krisha Marcano ("Fosse", "Aida", "The Apple Tree", "Sweet Charity", "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn") - and fine stage actors and recording artists making their Broadway debut - Jeannette Bayardelle, Elisabeth Withers-Mendes, Felicia P. Fields, and Brandon Victor Dixon, all under the expert guidance of director Gary Griffin and choreographer Donald Byrd.

The Color Purple musical is now playing at The Broadway Theatre. The Color Purple Broadway runs 2 hours and 40 minutes with one intermission. The Color Purple tickets are currently on sale through 2007.
