Tarzan Tickets Information
Based on the 1999 animated Disney film loved by generations that, in turn, was based on the 1912 novel "Tarzan of the Apes" by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the story of the Tarzan musical is familiar to most - an infant is left stranded and orphaned on the shores of West Africa after a shipwreck, whereupon he is taken in by a family of gorillas who raise him as their own. Years later he meets his first human being, a female explorer named Jane Porter and it changes his world forever.
The legendary tale was adapted for the Tarzan Broadway live stage version by David Henry Huang, winner of numerous awards for his Broadway debut with Pulitzer Prize-winner "M. Butterfly", including the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and John Gassner awards.
Phil Collins, the six-time Grammy-winning recording artist, revitalizes his award-winning film soundtrack into a full-fledged score, including Grammy and Oscar winning favorite "You'll Be In My Heart" which was Billboard's #1 for 10 straight weeks on the Adult Contemporary Charts, and adding nine great new songs. The Tarzan musical movie soundtrack went on to go double platinum.
With Tarzan tickets bought now you'll see the fine direction of visionary Bob Crowley, two-time Tony award winner for "Carousel" and "Aida" and Tony nominee for "The Iceman Cometh" and "Les Liaisons Dangereuses", "The Invention of Love", "Twelfth Night", and "Paul Simon's The Capeman", who also acted as Scenic Designer and Costume Designer for Tarzan Broadway.
The leading role in the Tarzan musical is played by Josh Strickland, who was once a finalist on American Idol. His leading lady, Jenn Gambatese, originated the role of Natalie in the Elvis-inspired hit "All Shook" up and performed in "Hairspray", "Footloose", "A Year in the Life of Frog and Toad".
