Spring Awakening Tickets Information
It seems 19th century Europeans remembered it all too vividly, so vividly in fact that for 71 years they banned the Frank Wedekind 1891 play on which Broadway's new Spring Awakening musical is based.

Don't let the age of the story fool you, though. Adapted by accomplished playwright Steven Sater ("Carbondale Dreams", "Doll", "Umbrage", "Perfect for You"), Spring Awakening is a timeless story made relevant and accessible to modern audience with the addition of a hip guitar-driven alternative rock score by Grammy nominated recording star Duncan Sheik and dynamic choreography by esteemed dancer and choreographer Bill T. Jones.

This is a creative team quite familiar with working together. Sater and Sheik had previously collaborated to great acclaim on "The Nightingale" based on the Hans Christian Anderson tale of the same name and which saw its premiere at the same theatre where Spring Awakening tickets can now be redeemed.

Spring Awakening Broadway director Michael Mayer (the Tony nominated "Thoroughly Modern Millie", the Tony nominated "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown", and the award-winning "Side Man", as well as "After the Fall", "'night Mother", "The Lion in Winter", "A View from the Bridge", "Uncle Vanya", and more) collaborated with Sheik on the recent film starring Colin Farrell "A Home At The End Of The World".

Spring Awakening tickets are tickets to a more innocent and bewildering time in our lives, when adolescent hormones are pumping and the hearkening of puppy love is in the air. And to a time as tumultuous now as it was in the 1800, when the parental disapproval and societal pressures lead budding young lives just starting out in the world to consider ghastly and irrevocable means of escape.

Starring a gorgeous and energetic young cast of practiced Broadway professionals, headed by Jonathan Groff ("In My Life"), Lea Michele ("Fiddler on the Roof", "Ragtime", "Les Miserables"), John Gallagher Jr., ("Rabbit Hole").

Shortly after selling out in its initial run off-Broadway, Spring Awakening tickets wound their way to the coveted Eugene O'Neill Theatre where many landmark productions made their mark.

For mature audiences only, the Spring Awakening musical is a story of innocence lost and found again, of desires, choices, and regrets - of 12 teenagers bursting, for better and worse, into adolescence. With songs like "The Bitch of Life" and "Totally F**ked" you can rest assured that the Spring Awakening musical by no means a period piece.

Spring Awakening Broadway runs 2 hours 15 minutes with one intermission. Spring Awakening tickets are currently on sale until March 2007.
