“Boldly going where no blonde has gone before” and based on the hit movie of the same name starring Academy Award-winner Reese Witherspoon (Best Actress for Walk the Line) that took movie theater box offices everywhere by storm, Legally Blond: The Musical is likewise taking Broadway.

Legally Blonde Tickets Information
Having originally opened in San Francisco, California’s Golden Gate Theatre on January 23, 2007, New York theatregoers have been relishing in the hilarious exploits of valley girl Elle Woods at the Palace Theatre, Broadway, since April 29. If you think you’ve seen Legally Blond already, think again. Get your Legally Blond: the Musical tickets today.

The story of the musical (as it is of its celluloid predecessor) is that of Elle Woods, the irrespressible stereotype of a typical dumb blonde fashion student and sorority girl who makes a desperate (and startlingly successful) attempt to get into Harvard University in order to impress her ex-boyfriend Warner Huntington III who has dumped her for a more intellectual mate, Vivienne Kensington.

Elle Woods’ style – and that of her self-same spoiled and pampered pooch, the chihuahua Bruiser Woods – is certainly a shock to the faculty and student body alike – they’re the proverbial fishes out of water – but she makes it work, by staying true to herself, and ultimately wins over the hearts and minds of everyone she touches, including Emmet Forrest a fellow law student and a likelier and more worthy lover than her former beau.

Legally Blonde: The Musical stars Laura Bell Bundy (Ruthless! The Musical, Hairspray, Wicked, The Sound of Music, Dreamgirls [the movie], and TV’s The Guiding Light) in the lead role, supported by Christian Borle as Emmett (Spamalot, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Amour, Footloose, Jesus Christ Superstar), Orfeh as Paulette (Saturday Night Fever, Footloose, and …Fascinating Rhythm), Richard H. Blake as Warner Huntington III (The Wedding Singer, Hairspray, Aida, Saturday Night Fever, Rent, Prince of Central Park, Macbeth, Sound of Music), and Kate Shindle as Vivienne (Cabaret, Jekyll & Hyde).

The book for the stage musical was written by Heather Hach (Freaky Friday) and the music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe (Batboy) and Nell Benjamin (Sarah, Plain and Tall). The Broadway incarnation of Legally Blonde: The Musical was directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell (The Will Rogers Follies, Brigadoon and On Your Toes as dancer; You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and The Full Monty as choreographer, and Grease, The Rocky Horror Show, Hairspray, Imaginary Friends, Gypsy, Never Gonna Dance, La Cage aux Folles, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels as co-choreographer). Jerry Mitchell won a Tony Award and a Drama Desk Award for his work on La Cage aux Folles.

Receiving endless acclaim from the likes of The New York Sun, WOR Radio, TIME Magazine, The New York Times, Variety, WWOR TV, The Financial Times, The Star Ledger, The New York Post, and MTV – to name just a few – Legally Blond tickets are among the hottest on Broadway.

Legally Blonde: The Musical has been nominated for 7 Tony Awards, namely: Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical (Laura Bell Bundy), Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical (Christian Borle), Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical (Orfeh), Best Choreography, and Best Costume Design of a Musical.

Legally Blonde: The Musical was also nominated for 10 Drama Desk Awards, namely: Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Book of a Musical, Outstanding Actress in a Musical (Laura Bell Bundy), Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical (Christian Borle), Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical (Orfeh), Outstanding Choreography, Outstanding Director of a Musical, Outstanding Lyrics, Outstanding Music, and Outstanding Set Design of a Musical.
