This British Columbia, Canada based sensation came onto the scene earlier than most, first with the Pacific Coast Hockey League (PCHL) from 1945-1952, then joining the World Hockey League (WHL) from 1952-1970, and finally coming to the NHL in 1970.

Vancouver Canucks Tickets Information
Their first year in existence they went all the way, winning the PCHL championship and taking home the coveted President's Trophy (aka the Lester Patrick Cup), the PCHL and WHL equivalents of the Stanley Cup, which they swept again in 1958, 1960, 1969, and 1970.

The Canucks have yet, however, to win the Stanley Cup itself, though they did win the Northwest Division Championships 4 times (in 1974-75, 1991-92, 1992-93, 2003-04) and the Western Conference Championships twice (in 1981-82 and in 1993-94).

The Vancouver Canucks' first-ever NHL game was against the Los Angeles Kings and their first NHL win came two days later against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Former Pittsburgh Penguins left-winger Markus Naslund has been the Canucks' team captain since 2000, during which he received the Lester B. Pearson award in 2003 for outstanding player as determined by the NHL Player's Association and was a cover athlete for EA Sports' popular NHL-based video game. Naslund has won 2 bronze medals and 1 silver medal on the World Championships team for his native land of Sweden.

Recently the Canucks made big changes to their roster, letting All-Star and former New York Islanders right wingman Todd Bertuzzi go (along with Alex Auld and Bryan Allen) to the Florida Panthers in exchange for goalie Roberto Luongo and defenceman Lukas Krajicek. Luongo is an especially welcome addition to the team, having played in 4 consecutive World Championships, where he won the silver once and the gold three times.

Vancouver Canucks tickets will also give you a serious double-take at identical twin stars Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin. Both brothers won the Golden Puck in 1999, Sweden's highest honor for a hockey player (akin to the NHL's Hart Memorial Trophy), and both helped the Swedish team win the gold medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. Together with Naslund, the threesome make up what's been dubbed "The Ikea Line" for their shared heritage.
