Tickets Information
Starting out at the birth of the National Hockey League in 1917, the team was originally known as the Toronto Arenas, changing their name 2 years later to the Toronto St. Patricks, and only becoming the Toronto Maple Leafs that we know them to be today in 1927, at the hands of visionary NHL builder Conn Smythe (also responsible for the New York Rangers).
Whatever their name, this Canadian force of nature has won 13 Stanley Cups and 5 Northeast Division Championships. Interestingly enough, they've won not a single Eastern Conference Championship (barring those 13 that sent them to the Cup finals, of course).
The Toronto Maple Leafs play their home games at Air Canada Centre where head coach Paul Maurice and team captain Mats Sundin put their NHL foes to the ultimate test. Swedish-born Sundin started the 2006-07 as the team's all-time leader in scoring overtime goals, recently marking his 15th overtime goal (and his 500th career goal) in an October game against the Calgary Flames.
Originally first overall draft pick in 1989 for the Quebec Nordiques, Sundin was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1994. Since that time, he's played in 9 All-Star Games and is currently the NHL's longest-serving European team captain.
The Toronto Maple Leafs also boast the man Leaf fans like to call the league's best defenceman, Bryan McCabe. Before becoming a Maple Leaf, McCabe played with the New York Islanders (for which he was also team captain for the 1997-98 season), the Vancouver Canucks, and the Chicago Blackhawks.
And then there's former Boston Bruins goalie, Andrew Raycroft. His rookie year out, 2004, he won the Calder Trophy.
Get your Toronto Maple Leafs tickets today and see the team that sent no less than 39 players to the NHL Hall of Fame. Who will be next? Make sure you're there watching as the next big moment in sports history is made.
