New York Islanders Tickets Information
They also took 6 Atlantic Division Championships and 6 Eastern Conference Championships in their career.

And though the team hasn't done much since 1988, during the 1994-95 NHL lockout they beefed up their offense, gaining Mike York from the Edmonton Oilers (and before that, the New York Rangers) and Miroslav Satan from the Buffalo Sabres (and before that, the Edmonton Oilers).

This past 2005-06 season, Miroslav Satan scored a personal high of 35 goals, and in December of 2006 he scored the 300th goal of his career. This past year Satan also tied for most points in a season (66) with Alexai Yashin, the team's captain.

Two-time Olympic medal winner Alexai Yashin currently holds the second longest contract in NHL history which lasts for 10 years. Starting his career as the first draft pick ever for the Ottawa Senators when they joined the scene 1992, Yashin earned the Calder Trophy his rookie year and went on to help secure the team's first-ever playoff win. He was a runner-up for both the Hart Trophy for MVP and the Richard Trophy for most goals scored. Before coming to Long Island and becoming the team captain of the New York Islanders, Yashin was the team captain of the Senators.

The NHL's longest official contract, surprisingly enough, belongs to his teammate, Rick DiPietro. Possibly one of the greatest moves (or worst, depending on who you ask!) for the Islanders in recent history, in fact, was the September 2006 resigning of star goalie Rick DiPietro (originally a first overall draft pick straight out of Boston University in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft) for an unheard-of 15 years.

Between 2000 and 2006, Rick DiPietro played for the U.S. in the World Junior Hockey Championship, the World Cup of Hockey, the IHF World Championships, and the XX Winter Olympic Games. Joining him on the Olympic team were fellow New York Islanders Mark Parrish and Jason Blake.

Uniondale-based New York Islanders were founded in 1972 and play their home games at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum (more commonly known as simply the Nassau Coliseum). But whether its for a game near their home or yours, get your New York Islanders tickets fast. They could be starting a new winning streak any season now.
