Minnesota Wild Tickets Information
Their first round (third overall) pick in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft was Marian Gaborik, still with the team today, In his (and the Minnesota Wild's) rookie season he scored 18 goals, including the first of the franchise. And in each of the following two consecutive years he scored 30 goals, helping take the Wild all the way to the playoffs in the 2002-03 season where they beat the Vancouver Canucks and the Colorado Avalanche but ultimately lost to the Anaheim Ducks.
Goalie Manny Fernandez is another powerful force for the Wild, like a lion protecting his den. Fernandez joined the team in their inaugural season after having played with the Quebec Nordiques and the Dallas Stars. Manny is an extremely physical player, unafraid of getting in there and making brutal contact with any opponent who invades his territory.
Recent additions to the team to keep a close eye out for are former member of the Los Angeles Kings, the St. Louis Blues, and the Ottawa Senators, Pavol Demitra, and former member of the New York Rangers and the Philadelphia Flyers, Kim Johnson.
Playing right wing and center, Demitra is a true sniper, finishing seventh in the NHL in scoring in 2001-02, with 78 points, and sixth in the league in 2002-03, scoring 93 points. That year he was named best overall player in Slovakia. The Swedish Johnson is a two-time winner of the Barry Ashbee Trophy for Best Defenseman for 2001-02 and 2003-04, both with the Flyers.
But those two aren't the only NHL veterans on the Minnesota Wild tickets this 2006-07 season. Also look for Mark Parrish (formerly of the Los Angeles Kings, the New York Islanders, and the Florida Panthers), Keith Carney (formerly of the Buffalo Sabres, the Chicago Blackhawks, the Phoenix Coyotes, the Anaheim Ducks, and the Vancouver Canucks), and Branko Radivojevic (formerly of the Phoenix Coyotes and the Philadelphia Flyers) to inject some new blood (and bloodlust) into the Wild.
The Minnesota Wild have yet to win a Division or Conference championship, much less the Stanley Cup, but with their current lineup, and their current standing of second in the Northwest Division, it's more likely this upcoming season than ever before. So be there, whether it's an away game in your hometown or at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
