Anaheim Ducks Tickets Information
Under new owners now, Broadcom's co-founder to be precise, and with new head coach Randy Carlyle, former James Norris Memorial Trophy winner, player for 17 seasons on the Winnipeg Jets (and co-captain from 1989-91), the Pittsburgh Penguins (and captain from 1981-84), and the Toronto Maple Leafs, as well as a four-time NHL All-Star, there's no telling what the Anaheim Ducks are capable of now.
Especially with team captain Scott Niedermayer in command. Considered one of the league's top defencemen, Niedermayer came to the Ducks in 2005 after playing all 12 of his prior seasons with the NHL (and winning 3 Stanley Cups) with the New Jersey Devils. He's also played to great acclaim in 3 All-Star games and helped Team Canada take the gold in Salt Lake City at the 2002 Winter Olympics.
This last season, 2005-06, was Niedermayer's best on record, offensively speaking, with 63 points on 50 assists and 13 goals. His brother Rob Niedermayer, formerly of the Calgary Flames and the Florida Panthers, joins Scott on the Ducks' roster.
Recently the Anaheim Ducks said farewell to Joffrey Lupul, after he'd scored all 4 of the team's goals in the Western Conference Semi-finals (against the Colorado Avalanche), and saw him traded away along with Ladislav Smid to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for pro-hockey veteran and multiple award winner Chris Pronger.
Having also played for the Hartford Whalers and the St. Louis Blues, Pronger received the Hart Trophy for most valuable player and the James Norris Memorial Trophy for the top defenceman, both in 2000, and has participated in five NHL All-Star games. A true All-Star, Pronger made the history books in 2006 as the first player to ever score on a penalty shot during the Stanley Cup finals.
Forward Teemu Selanne is another great reason to see the Anaheim Ducks play live. This Finnish wonder played for the Winnipeg Jets, the San Jose Sharks, and the Colorado Avalanche before coming to Anaheim. His rookie year, 1993, Selanne won the Calder Memorial Trophy, going on to win the Rocket Richard Trophy in 1999 for most goals scored, and the Bill Masterson Memorial Trophy in 2006 for exemplifying sportsmanship, perseverance, and dedication to hockey.
Whether you live near their home in Honda Center (once Anaheim Arena and the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim) or on the other side of the continent, Anaheim Ducks tickets are available now for chances to see these powerhouse players do their thing near you, so don't miss out.
