Tennessee Titans Tickets Information
The Tennessee Titans are one of 4 teams in the American Football Conference South Division (AFC South) – along with the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars - and one of 16 teams in the AFC which in turn is one of the two conferences in the National Football League (NFL).

Formerly based in Houston, Texas and known as the Houston Oilers before moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 1997, the team that became the Tennessee Titans we know them to be today only took on that name in 1999, spending the interim as the Tennessee Oilers.

Whatever their name, the franchise has been playing pro football since 1960. First, as the Houston Oilers, they were charter members of the American Football League, Eastern Division of which they remained a part until 1969. During that time, they won 4 AFL East Division championships (1960-62, 1967) and 2 AFL championships (1960 and 1961).

The Tennessee Oilers joined the NFL and the AFC Central Division in 1970. Between then and 2002, when they switched to the AFC South, they won 2 AFC Central division championships (1991 and 1993) as the Oilers and another 1 (in 2000) as the Tennessee Titans, the name they carry through to today. And their first year with the AFC South, 2002, they won the division championship. The Tennessee Titans have attended one Super Bowl – Super Bowl XXXIV in 2000 – but lost 23-16 to the St. Louis Rams.

The Tennessee Titans play their home games at the 68,000+ seat LP Field in Nashville, Tennessee. The team uniform colors are titan blue, navy blue, red, and white. Their mascot is the Raven- and Jaguar-hunting T-Rac.

They are currently under the leadership of head coach Jeff Fisher who, since the retirement of previous record-holder Bill Cowher of the Pittsburgh Steelers, has the distinction of holding the longest tenure in NFL coaching history, having been in the role since 1996. Before that, he was the team’s defensive coordinator and prior to that on the coaching and administrative staffs of the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, and Philadelphia Eagles. As an NFL player, he was cornerback on the Chicago Bears from 1981 to 1984. Jeff Fisher’s career record is 105-93 regular season, 5-4 postseason, and 110-97 overall.

A number of Titans have earned their way into the pro football history books, including offensive lineman Bruce Matthews (1983-2001) who was just honored in 2007 by being inducted into NFL Hall of Fame. Other Hall of Famers that played on one incarnation of the franchise or another are: defensive end Elvin Bethea, quarterback and placekicker George Blanda, running back Earl Campbell, strong safety Ken Houston, offensive guard Mike Munchak, and quarterback Warren Moon.

The Tennessee Titans finished out 2006 with a .500 regular season record (8 wins, 8 losses). Get your Tennessee Titans tickets and see how high they can raise the bar this season.
