Joss Stone Tickets Information
Having performed with legends like Gladys Knight and Blondie, Joss Stone is well on her way to becoming a legend in her own right. Born in Dover, Kent, England, Joss Stone has in the mere 4 years since breaking out onto the music scene in 2003 made a permanent name for herself in the annals of music, and built a fan base that spans the oceans.
The Soul Sessions, Joss Stone's debut album, was an instant smash, in large part because of the participation of some of Miami's hottest names in soul music and the inclusion of many previously underappreciated gems from soul music's past. With soon to be classics like "Super Duper Love", and "Fell in Love With a Boy" a gender-reversing revamping of a 2001 hit by the White Stripes, the album was destined for greatness. The Soul Sessions reached number 5 in the U.K. charts and made more than a cursory appearance on the U.S. Billboard Top 200.
Her follow-up album, Mind, Body and Soul, for which the cowrote all the songs, received even greater accolades. No less than 7 songs from that release have become chart-contending radio singles: "You Had Me", Right to Be Wrong", "Spoiled", "Don't Cha Wanna Ride", "Less Is More", and "Segurity". This second album has seen a more modern hip-hop influence eke into her stylings, an influence perpetuated in her subsequent release as well.
Before putting out her third, and latest, album, Joss Stone dabbled in acting, with an appearance as the witch Angela in the movie version of the widely read book Eragon. She also shared a Grammy award win with John Legend, Van Hunt, and Sly and the Family Stone for a remake of the latter's "Family Affair". Joss Stone has appeared on recordings by Santana and Elton John as well as a Queen Tribute album, 6 soundtracks including "Alfie", "Chicken Little", and TV's "Desperate Housewives", a benefit album for Hurricane Relief and a collaborative remake of "Do They Know It's Christmas" for Band-Aid.
The 2007 Joss Stone Tour is in honor of her third studio release, Introducing Joss Stone, which hit the racks in March and features collaborations with Lauren Hill, Common, and Novel, and the hit single "Tell Me 'Bout It". Joss Stone's 2007 tour begins April 27 at Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut and runs at least through June 16 at Revolution in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
