John Mayer Tickets Information
His first full-length solo album came in 2001 and was called Room for Squares, which delivered such popping popular hits as "Why Georgia" and "No Such Thing". John Mayer won a Grammy for another song on that album, "Your Body is a Wonderland", which earned him Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
Two years later, John Mayer released Heavier Things and got himself a second Grammy, for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance and Song of the Year for the single "Daughters".
John Mayer then transitioned to blues in 2005 a move which allowed him to collaborate with such blues greats as B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, and John Scofield, as well as tour with none other than the legendary Herbie Hancock. (John Mayer has also, incidentally, toured with Sheryl Crow, Maroon 5, The Wallflowers, Guster, and Counting Crows.) That same spring he formed the blues-inspired The John Mayer Trio along with Steve Jordan on drums and Pino Palladino on bass.
The Trio's first album together was a live album entitled Try! which included both blues and rock and led to them opening for The Rolling Stones. The first single from Try!, "Who Did You Think I Was?" is sure to be in the playlist for this newest John Mayer tour.
For his latest solo album, Continuum, released in September of 2006, John Mayer earned four Grammy Award nominations, including Album of the Year, while the John Mayer Trio earned him a fifth nomination for Try! Listen to Continuum closely and you'll hear studio versions of "Vultures" and "Gravity", both originally heard live on Try! Then take your John Mayer tickets to the amphitheatre where you're bound to hear reimagined versions of those same songs live once more.
Continuum is also where John Mayer introduced to the world the pop hit "Waiting on the World to Change", another tune your John Mayer tickets are sure to give you a chance to hear live and revivified. "Waiting…" debuted at #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
John Mayer announced recently that he is already in the process of writing his next album, though whether it's a solo venture or another one for the Trio remains to be seen. In the meantime, get your John Mayer tickets to see his 2007 Winter Tour, before winter's over and it's too late!
Interesting side notes: John Mayer is also a regular columnist for Esquire Magazine ("Music Lessons With John Mayer") and an amateur stand-up comic.
