Between 1977 and 1989 Harry Connick, Jr. released four great albums. During that period he also found time to give his stage and screen affections some attention, composing the Tony award nominated score for the Broadway musical Thou Shalt Not, giving voice to an animated character in The Iron Giant, narrating the film My Dog Skip, starring opposite Glenn Close in a television remake of Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific, and appearing in John Grisham's Mickey, Basic with John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson and as a regular on television's Will & Grace.
