Genesis Tickets Information
Genesis is one of the 30 all-time bestselling recording artists, having sold somewhere near 150 million recordings since their humble Surrey, England starts back in 1967. In its time, the band went through a number of changes and reinventions - from art rock and concept albums to straight ahead alternative rock. Who can forget, for example, The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway and, on the other end of the spectrum Invisible Touch (oddly enough their singular #1 single in the U.S.)?
Many people know Phil Collins as the prolific and eclectic songwriter that he is, whether as front man for Genesis or as a solo artist in his own right. But not as many people are away that his first instrument was not voice but drums. And for anyone who has never heard Phil Collins give a 20-minute drum solo, be assured it is a remarkable treat - one of the treats you'll be sure to enjoy if you get your Genesis tickets before they're sold out.
Another of the big names on the ever-changing Genesis roster is Mike Rutherford, at one time the titular Mike of Mike and the Mechanics. Other founding member Tony Banks has also signed on for the reunion, making their 2007 Genesis tour lineup as close to that of Genesis at its genesis as one could get. Throughout all the band's various and sundry incarnations, in fact, Rutherford and Banks have been the only 2 members to remain throughout.
Briefly, when Phil Collins left the band to pursue his own interest, the former lead singer of Stiltskin, Ray Wilson, took the spotlight, fronting Genesis on their poorly received 1997 release Calling All Stations. But on this Genesis tour, you can rest assured it will be Phil Collins himself on the lead mic.
Since 1967, Genesis has put out 15 studio albums, 5 live albums, 2 compilations, 2 EPs, and 2 Box Sets. On the playlist for the Genesis reunion tour, called the Genesis Turn it On Again Tour, you can bet you'll hear a retrospective of great Genesis songs from all of it - including songs from Trespass, "A Trick of the Tail", "Abacab", "We Can't Dance", and their self-titled "Genesis".
Currently only European dates have been set for the Genesis Turn It On Again tour, but stay tuned right here for the latest on any North American dates (that's the U.S. and/or Canada).
