Andrea Bocelli Tickets Information
Blind since the age of 12 from a combination of glaucoma and a football injury, Italian operatic tenor and classical crossover troubadour, Andrea Bocelli has recorded 16 classical and pop albums as well as 6 operas in their entirety: Cavalleria Rusticana, Il Trovatore, La Bohème, Pagliacci, Tosca, and Werther. To date, Bocelli has sold over 55 million albums around the world.

By the age of 6 he’d already started learning to play piano, saxophone, and flute, though he would always be asked by his relatives to sing from them. As he was attending college for law he simultaneously was studying under tenor Franco Corelli and singing in local piano bars.

His career as a professional singer started – whether officially or unofficially – in 1992, when he auditioned to sing a duet with rock star Zucchero. Though Luciano Pavarotti later took the role, he himself commented that Bocelli ought to have recorded it instead, as he sang it better.

Andrea Bocelli’s first record was also his first gold record. It came in 1994 when he sang "Il mare calmo della sera", the winning entry in the Sanremo Music Festival.

Bocelli has performed alongside great singers like Luciano Pavarotti, Celine Dion, and the English soprano who played the Phantom of the Opera’s misbegotten muse, Sarah Brightman. And speaking of Phantom, Andrea also sang that musical’s showstopper “Music of the Night” by Andrew Lloyd Webber at the famed Concert for Diana at London, England’s Wembley Stadium.

Likewise Bocelli has performed for great audiences, such as Pope John Paul II. And on September 8, 2007 Bocelli sang Mozart at Pavarotti’s funeral.

American Pop audiences became acquainted with Andrea Bocelli through his acclaimed appearance on the hit FOX TV show American Idol where he coached the final 6 and, later that season, sang duets with runner-up Katharine McPhee. Bocelli’s duet with Sarah Brightman also made an appearance in mainstream pop culture by being featured in the Will Ferrell, Jon Heder film Blades of Glory.

On October 22, 2007, Andrea Bocelli releases his latest album, a greatest hits compilation called Vivere – The Best of Andrea Bocelli. The album brings back duets with Brightman, Celine Dion, Laura Pausini, Kenny G. on saxophone, and Lang Lang on piano.

Andrea Bocelli goes on tour in the U.S. starting this December with dates scheduled so far from December 1 and the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada through to December 15 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

Don't miss a note of his beautiful soaring singing; get your Andrea Bocelli tickets now.
